Beginning December 22, 2007, through January 2, 2008, the dining facilities and room service will not be available at this hotel. Train services link Manchester airport with Blackpool via Manchester, and bus services also connect the airport with other towns and cities. Blackpool airport is two miles away, but the nearest major airport is Manchester, 60 miles away. Blackpool Pleasure Beach is on the doorstep, offering entertainment ranging from comedy shows, musicals and circus spectacles to white knuckle rides, crazy golf, bowling and bingo. The Best Western Big Blue Hotel has a fitness centre and offers massage services, as well as conference facilities and free onsite parking. Children can design their own freshly-cooked pizza and the menu includes international and British dishes as well as vegetarian options.
Guests of the Best Western Big Blue Hotel can dine in the Blue Bar and Brasserie, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner serving a range of meals, snacks and drinks. All have color televisions, DVD players and tea and coffee making facilities, Family suites have a games console and separate children's sleeping area with bunk beds, each with its own television. The 157 air-conditioned guestrooms are decorated in contemporary style with neutral earth tones, wood finished floors and wooden furniture with cream and brown fabrics. Blackpool's attractions, including the Tower, pier and Sealife centre are all within a couple of miles.
